From the little treasures of Tanzania to the vast rural landscapes, a seven day safari in Mikumi, Ruaha and Udzungwa will give you a taste of it all.
For an ‘off the beaten track safari,’ this is a perfect choice! You’ll see awe-inspiring mountain ranges, formidable elephant herds and all the wildlife you would expect to meet in the wilds of Tanzania.
You will depart from Dar es Salaam by car and drive to Mikumi National Park. You can look forward to a half-day game drive on arrival, but first, you will have a meal.
Mikumi National Park is made up of diverse terrain that will keep you guessing all day. The rolling hills, sparkling rivers and vast plains all play host to a variety of flora and fauna.
The Uluguru Mountains are to the Northeast, the Rubeho Mountains to the Northwest and the Lumango Mountains to the Southeast.
You will spend the night at your lodge in Mikumi, preparing for your journey in the morning.
After an early breakfast, you will depart for Ruaha National Park, where you will be picked up by your guide and driven away to your lodge.
Here you will spend the rest of your day relaxing in the beautiful surroundings of the region while preparing for the next day of adventure!
The next three days will be spent traversing through Ruaha National Park with a jam-packed game drive.nThe most rural park in Tanzania, with a horizon dotted with mysterious baobab trees, it won’t take long for you to feel like a true explorer in this park.
On safari in Ruaha, you will encounter all manner of wildlife from cheetah to antelope. The Ruaha River which runs through the heart of the park and is known to attract crocodiles as well as hippos.
You will spend your nights luxuriating at your lodge, with warm meals and refreshing beverages to unwind with after your day’s exploration.
You will spend your remaining time in Ruaha surrounded by nature, enjoying a picnic breakfast in the park. After breakfast, you will fly to your final destination, Udzungwa Mountains National Park! With a packed lunch, you’ll start your Udzungwa adventure with a waterfall hike.
No doubt exhausted by your day of exploring, you will retire to your lodge after your hike for dinner and rest.
Your final day of safari is here. After an early morning breakfast at your lodge, your guide will take you for a walk to soak up your last few moments in Tanzanian wilderness.
There is so much to see on a walk through the park. Udzungwa is home to 10 species of primate, three of which are endemic. As well as this, you can find over 400 species of birds in the trees, as well as many endemic amphibians, reptiles, and butterflies.
After your walk, you will be driven back to Dar es Salaam to continue on your travels.
